The 2nd Challenge!
Alright, the first challenge went very well! Hopefully you're beginning to think in shadows and highlights and not in hard-cut lines. In our last meeting, we discussed ways to improve your shadowing and highlighting technique, as well as a few pencil holding methods.
Remember: The best lines to use when sketching are the lightest lines. Thick lines are for when you're sure of the "draft" you made. It's basically the same concept as writing a draft for an essay, but with an image instead.
The second challenge: You are to draw a skull at any angle--but you also have to have a face at the same angle to go with it. It's a two-part challenge because we will not be meeting the week of Feb. 20-24. Your skull needs to be the same angle as the face. Remember that! Behind every characters face is a skull--something that provides shape and structure to the person you are creating. Do your best! Use images from google--draw from real life!
We will eventually get to creating and designing a character for storyboard purposes, but before we ca run, we need to walk.
